Data Set Description: This is a subset of the Deep-Sea Coral Research and Technology Program’s National Database. The data were acquired for the National Database from a research cruise aboard M/V Holiday Chousest, September 2011. The survey was conducted in support of the Natural Resources Damage Assessment for Deep Water Horizon. The data were provided by Dr. Peter Etnoyer and Dr. Ken Sulak. The data are from geo-referenced image observations and specimens collected by an Schilling Robotics UHD-34 ROV. The records represent observations and specimens of octocorals and hexacorals in the 61 - 115 meter depth range in the Northern Gulf of Mexico, including their number. Changes to the original dataset may have been made to conform to the National Database Schema and for quality control purposes. This is a collection of NOAA, Office of Response and Restoration records collected by ROV cruise conducted in September, 2011 in the Gulf of Mexico.
